Chenwei Medical recently hosted an online meeting with anesthesiologists from leading hospitals in China to better understand their real-world needs and perioperative practices.
During the discussion, clinicians shared their most commonly used ventilation modes and how these modes help manage various patient conditions:
VCV (Volume Controlled Ventilation): Widely used during general anesthesia for precise tidal volume control, protecting lung function in patients with minimal or no spontaneous breathing.
PCV (Pressure Controlled Ventilation): Applied for patients with poor lung compliance, such as obese patients or during thoracoabdominal procedures, to limit peak airway pressures and reduce lung injury risk.
PSV (Pressure Support Ventilation): Used during emergence or postoperative periods to support spontaneous breathing, reduce work of breathing, and facilitate smooth extubation.
This meaningful exchange reinforced that a high-quality anesthesia machine is more than a device — it’s a reliable partner for anesthesiologists and a safeguard for patient safety.
Chenwei Medical remains committed to listening to clinicians, refining every function, and delivering smarter, safer solutions for perioperative care worldwide.
